Buckeye Trail – Dec. 6, 2020

Today’s hike started at Medina Square, and went west on the Buckeye Trail, including the 3 mile stretch on the Lester Rail Trail. It was an out and back, so I hiked a total of 10.4 miles.

Going west from Medina, I passed the A.I.Root Company headquarters and main plant (pictured, with the old train depot that’s now a gift store.) Root was a world leader in providing equipment for beekeeping, but it appears they now focus primarily on candles.

I also passed the Corkscrew Saloon, a restaurant west of Medina that’s housed in an old brick Victorian mansion.

The last picture is the view as I started on the Lester Rail Trail. I enjoyed it, but it looks like it goes on forever in the distance.
